Koons case
http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2007/nov/05...-rape-cha/
So out of curiosity, what do you think? Should he get diversion as he has requested, probation if he doesn't, or jail time? Also, is he now a registered sex offender? |

There are people on that list for far lesser offenses. http://protectoakridgekids.blogspot.com/ http://whovilleburbs.blogspot.com/ |

RE: Koons case
Not showing up on the online registry yet, but should be shortly (the plea just happened this afternoon). I can't imagine that Judge Elledge would grant diversion; after all, before he was appointed to the bench, he served on the Clinton school board. He has a long history of looking out for children.

RE: Koons case
Isn't it ironic how Oak Ridge covers up the really BAD stuff. Maybe if he had been more of the disciplinarian like other teachers, he wouldn't have run into this problem. Maybe the Super will realize we need more rules in school and not worry so much about being the students "friends" If I had had friends like Monty in school, no telling where I would be now!!!

I ask because I was told by the ORPD that the guy responsible for updates here has a backlog and I got the impression that that's usually the case - so it's not immediate. http://protectoakridgekids.blogspot.com/ http://whovilleburbs.blogspot.com/ |

RE: Koons case
Oh, and don't you just love how Knox News scooped the Oak Ridger yet again? I'm sure locals are more interested in Pakistan and Oprah than a child-molesting teacher's day in court.

RE: Koons case
Could be, but the story ran at 4:44p.m. and the ridger runs breaking news notes after business hours on a pretty regular basis. I'm not a big fan or foe, really, but the way they handle that online section irks me sometimes.

That's it Opus. The Sentinel has a larger readership so we expect them to do a better job. life is good. |
